Purchasing & Inventory Specialist

MetaLINK Technologies is searching for a Purchasing & Inventory Specialist. The ideal candidate for this critical position will be highly organized, proficient in Excel, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This position will be responsible for the smooth purchasing operations, accurate inventory tracking, and efficient coordination across departments.

Essential Job Functions:

Purchasing & Receiving

Place and manage purchase orders with suppliers based on internal PO requests

Receive and unload deliveries using a forklift or pallet jack

Maintain inventory rotation using FIFO (First In, First Out) standards

Update PO databases accurately and in a timely manner

Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to negotiate pricing, address issues, and enhance supply chain efficiency

Inventory Management

Weekly stocking of supplies and inventory at the tower

Oversee inventory across multiple departments (Wireless, Fiber, Phone)

Accurately receive and log items into inventory systems

Conduct monthly physical inventory counts at multiple locations (Wayne Ave, Ayersville Office/Barn, Ayersville Tower, and vans)

Generate reports to monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock

Support annual audits by preparing inventory lists and assisting auditors

Manage Fixed Assets: add/dispose monthly assets, scan documentation, and maintain up-to-date records

Compile monthly inventory reports and ensure consistency through reconciliation with the General Ledger

Provide Fixed Asset reporting support for month-end closing

Administrative & Compliance Tasks

Perform bi-annual audits comparing inventory systems to General Ledger

Reconcile that routers in billing platform are getting billed out properly according to inventory system

Other duties as assigned by management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)

Forklift experience preferred

Experience with inventory systems

Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines

Effective communication and vendor negotiation skills

Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

Ability to move, lift and manage heavy inventory items. Approx. 50 lbs.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or GED

Job Type: Full-time

Starting Pay Range: Compensation will be based on experience and knowledge.
