Sr. Tax Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in Odessa, Texas. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in public accounting and tax compliance, who is eager to contribute expertise in managing complex tax processes and financial reporting. You will play a key role in ensuring accurate and efficient tax preparation and advisory services for our clients.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and review complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, staying up-to-date with changes in tax laws.

Provide expert guidance on tax planning strategies to optimize financial outcomes for clients.

Collaborate with clients to gather necessary financial information and resolve any discrepancies.

Utilize accounting software systems such as CCH ProSystem Fx and CaseWare to streamline tax preparation and reporting processes.

Conduct audits and reviews to assess financial accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Assist with entity formation and provide advisory services for new business structures.

Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and alignment with industry standards.

Support the implementation of tax-related policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.

Mentor entry-level staff members, sharing expertise and fostering growth within the team. Requirements - Minimum of 5 years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax preparation and compliance.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is highly preferred.

Proficiency in accounting software systems such as CCH ProSystem Fx, CaseWare, and CCH IntelliConnect.

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Demonstrated expertise in entity formation, audits, and financial statement preparation.

Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.

Effective communication skills to collaborate with clients and team members.

Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
