This role is responsible for verifying security risk controls conform to the requirements for which they were intended and ensure their effectiveness.
This role is part of the Corporate Security team within our Airport Operations division.
What you'll do

Interact and support various teams within the enterprise to comply with all SeMS standards
Conducts internal auditing of SeMS to prepare all relevant departments for biannual IOSA audit
Ensures field stations are compliant with IOSA and ICAO security requirements and SeMS standards
Represents American Airlines at IATA/ICAO security conferences and benchmarking events
Conducts auditing and evaluation of the SEMS and operational security functions at a determined frequency following a regularly performed risk assessment to ensure American Airlines is complying with the AOSP and other applicable regulations and standards, satisfying stated operational needs, identifying areas requiring improvement, identifying threats and vulnerabilities to operations, and assessing the effectiveness of security risk management and controls
Audits the application and accuracy of SeMS risk assessment for all security events (including over 24,000 annual security events reported through CERS)
Conducting evaluations of security-related K2 RMWs to ensure proper application of SeMS process and standard security risk assessment
Issues Corrective Actions for any SeMS or security procedure deficiencies found
Conducts continuous monitoring to ensure Corrective Actions have been completed to satisfaction and no residual risk is created
Ensure root cause identification is properly performed for security-related findings enterprise-wide
Monitor security vendors to ensure requiremetns that affect the security of operations are being fulfilled
Present descriptive and inferential statistics to leadership and other stakeholders regarding security occurrence data
Publish revisions and maintain the American Airlines Aircraft Operator Security Program
Manage security publications in Comply365
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's degree
4 years of prior relevant work experience in risk management
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Master's degree
2+ years of Security Management Systems experience
2+ years of aviation risk management experience
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Business Intelligence (BI) products such as Power BI or Tableau
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple assignemnts at once
Knowledge of IOSA Standard Manual
Knowledge of Adobe FrameMaker
Knowledge of statistical software packages used for data analysis such as SPSS and Stata
