This job is a member of the Aircraft Configuration Management Team within the Integrated Operations Division.
Responsible for active aircraft, engine, APU, landing gear, and component configuration and maintenance status of tracked parts and tasks in Tech Ops maintenance systems, in accordance with company policy and department procedures, for planning, scheduling and accomplishment that satisfy FAA and OEM requirements for airworthiness of aircraft and related systems for major airline
What you'll do
Provides technical expertise, train and mentor Specialists on maintenance transaction and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness in the Tech Ops maintenance systems (SCEPTRE & System Time Control) and AirVault document application on active aircraft
Provides technical expertise, train and mentor Specialists on part and task related configuration of active aircraft and generate internal instructions for ongoing maintenance items in SCEPTRE, including new aircraft deliveries and modifications
Provides technical expertise, train and mentor Specialists on daily maintenance tracking of active major aircraft assemblies (engines, APUs, landing gear, thrust reversers) for shop maintenance, part changes, and maintenance tasks including lease units
Provides technical expertise, train and mentor Specialists on discrepancies with key information completed by Aircraft Maintenance Technicians as part of regulatory or safety related tasks in Tech Ops maintenance systems on active aircraft
Provides technical expertise, train and mentor Specialists to implement SCEPTRE controls and procedures on active aircraft requested by Engineering, Maintenance Programs and Maintenance Control departments to satisfy OEM and FAA requirements
Investigates and resolves complex discrepancies to ensure Tech Ops maintenance systems reflect actual configuration and maintenance/inspection status of active aircraft, engine, APU, landing gear assemblies and components
Oversees the department internal audit functions, identify root causes of defects and revise department procedures, tools, or applications to reduce errors
Manages replacement of FAA Airworthiness Certificates and Aircraft registrations on active aircraft
Understands and communicates policy and procedure manuals and their impact to department processes
Documents new and revised business processes with a strong emphasis on Continuous Improvement
Balances daily job assignments across the team consistent with operational demand including external department requests
Serves as department focal with Tech Ops partner departments on key projects and initiatives including Maintenance Programs, Engineering, Maintenance Planning, Quality Assurance, and Line and Base Maintenance stations or internal shops
Engages suppliers and vendors as required for part maintenance discrepancies and documentation to ensure proof of compliance with maintenance or modification activity on active aircraft components
Available to be on call 24/7
Available for weekend duty or night shift coverage in some roles
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Associate's degree or higher education in technical or aviation related field
5 years relevant experience
Proficiency in SCEPTRE or System Time Control (STC) maintenance systems
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's degree or hgiher education in technical or aviation related field
Experience with other aircraft maintenance systems such as SAFE, AMPS, TechSight X that interface with SCEPTRE of System Time Control (STC) maintenance systems
Lean Office or Lean Manufacturing training
Six Sigma Yellow Belt or higher certification from an accredited/accepted institution
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Demonstrated understanding of parts and task relationship/structure in SCEPTRE or System Time Control (STC) maintenance systems
Working knowledge of corporate and department policies and procedures including detailed understanding of GPM, EPM and applicable FAA Regulations
Ability to understand, interpret and navigate Tech Ops technical data sources including maintenance manuals and airline produced documents such as EO, ES, EA, FMR, ESO
Computer literate and proficient in use of Microsoft Office products
Ability to manage multiple duties, priorities, and special assignments on a daily basis, corresponding with operational needs
Capacity to cross-train on multiple departmental duties
Capability to succeed in a fast-paced work environment and maintain precision under deadlines
Aptitude to operate independently in self-directed fashion
Experience with organizational projects and the ability to manage and complete these projects
Effective time management and organization skills
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
