What You Will Do
Los Alamos National Laboratory has a rare opportunity for an exceptional Division Leader to oversee our Nuclear Process Infrastructure Division (NPI-DO). The Nuclear Process Infrastructure Division (NPI-DO) partners with the Organizations across LANL to achieve mission success.
Reporting to the chief Operations Officer for Weapons Production, the Division Leader (DL) will provide operational and technical leadership to the Nuclear Process Infrastructure Division. You will function as a key part of the division management team that has the responsibilities for proper work authorization, quality assurance practices, human resource management, recruiting, and continuing development of division capabilities. One primary responsibility of this role is to develop sustainable and repeatable processes in support of 24/7 shift operations supporting the ALDWP mission.

Minimum Job Requirements:
Leadership:
Advanced experience in leading a management team in organizational strategic planning initiatives to include establishing, monitoring, and reporting on performance metrics.
Proven ability to identify, secure and lead programs, obtain and allocate resources and deliver within scope, schedule and budget.
Advanced experience leading business operations to include financial, human resources, procurement, communications with executive leadership, and other related business activities.
Advanced experience in dynamic production environments with history in working and leading shift operations
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-Clearance
Technical Leadership
Advanced experience leading a multidisciplinary group of scientists, engineers, technicians, students and professional staff in a production and technical environment.
Demonstrated excellence in the leadership and management of technical projects and staff, that includes a record of successful teamwork and consensus building within and across organizational boundaries.
Nuclear Facility: Expert knowledge of safety and security, environmental and quality regulatory requirements needed to manage work in a nuclear and/or high hazard facility.
DOE : DOE 426.2 requirement, BS degree, and four years of nuclear experience.
Education/Experience : Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 15 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
Nuclear Facility: Demonstrated experience with nuclear materials management, as well as nuclear or radiological facility operations in a 24/7 production .
LANL: Broad knowledge of Laboratory programs and technical organizations.
Education/Experience : Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution and 15 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Clearance: HRP certification.
Work Environment:
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.

Additional Details
Directive 206.2 - Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 (https://directives.nnsa.doe.gov/supplemental-directive/sd-0206-0002) . Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.
*Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.
426.2: This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities, which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.
Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
