Description

We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Newport, Rhode Island. In this role, you will handle key accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations, general ledger entries. This position requires attention to detail, a strong grasp of accounting principles, and proficiency with tools like Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities:

Perform bank reconciliations on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.

Record and manage general ledger entries, including cash receipts and other financial transactions.

Reconcile accounts and balance sheets to maintain the integrity of financial data.

Support month-end close activities by preparing necessary reports and documentation.

Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP to manage and analyze financial data.

Collaborate with team members to address discrepancies and provide solutions for financial reporting issues.

Prepare journal entries and ensure proper documentation for auditing purposes.

Use Microsoft Excel to create detailed financial reports and analyses as needed.

Maintain accurate and organized records to support financial audits and reviews.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Senior Accountant

Strong proficiency in bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and account reconciliation.

Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP.

Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to create complex spreadsheets.

Knowledge of month-end close processes and financial reporting requirements.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards.

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
