GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides leadership to finance-related activities and functions for the organization. This includes but is not limited to: planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting, coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements and coordinating activities of external auditors. Partner in the development and delivery of financial information and reporting vital to the decision-making process. Participate in the budget process and monthly management of financials, partner in the development and preparation of grant funding applications and provide leadership over fiscal reporting and management of funds consistent with funding objectives. Provide quality and process improvement leadership to financial activities including assessing current accounting operations and offering recommendations for improvement, partnering in the implementation of new processes, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting databases. Oversee regulatory reporting, including tax planning and compliance. Responsible for the hiring, training and professional development of accounting staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting or Finance or 4 years of equivalent accounting experience. Minimum 8 years of relevant financial services experience.

Able to work independently with minimal supervision, high level of integrity. Strong organizational, attention to details and follow-up skills, able to prioritize and meet deadlines. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated ability to author clear and concise accounting policies and procedures. Ability to instruct and monitor the work of other accounting staff.

Strong computer skills; specifically, data reporting, computerized accounting packages, and spreadsheet modeling. Ability to understand and interpret IRS and other governmental laws and regulations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Non-profit accounting experience.

Medical/health industry background or experience.

CPA

Previous supervisory experience.

Financial reporting writing (e.g., Crystal, SQL) skills or aptitude.

Three or more years of experience with computerized, complex payroll and time and attendance systems.
