What You Will Do
ALDWP is seeking candidates for the role of Division Leader.
The candidate will be asked to build and lead the new Maintenance Division supporting ALDWP. This position will be the central voice for maintenance asset management and integrated operations efforts within ALDWP facilities. The scope of responsibility will be initially centered around creating and establishing a uniform Nuclear Facility Maintenance, Asset Management, Operations Integration Center, and work management system. You will be responsible for ensuring deliverables are met for facility and programmatic maintenance, work management, programmatic equipment support engineering, field technical baselines, life cycle management, reliability engineering, equipment listings, and decontamination services. You will be responsible for developing a systematic process through a Computerized Maintenance Management System (e.g. Asset Suite) for ensuring reliability of facility equipment and assets in a cost-effective manner to meet NA91 and Programmatic maintenance life cycle planning. Some other duties this role will be responsible for:
Ensuring the Integrated Safety Management (ISM) Core Functions are implemented and understood throughout the organization
Defining program milestones and maintaining deliverables within a defined budget
Developing and maintaining appropriate performance metrics
Integrating and supporting efforts of internal, external and subcontract work groups
Maintaining cognizance of all facility maintenance activities and work status
Ensuring the @type of document chosen to perform work is based upon the degree of risks, hazards, and complexity of the work activity
Ensuring mechanics, planners, craft, and managers are adequately trained in planning and executing work
Developing, maintaining, and controlling changes to the Project/Facility Minor Maintenance Lists, if the facility chooses to perform Minor Maintenance
Managing schedule change control to maintain efficient utilization of available facility resources
Ensuring work packages are ready to work by verifying paper, parts and people are ready prior to the execution week
Working with Operations to ensure that planned outages are aligned and supported as scheduled
Driving the schedule during execution week and resolving obstacles as needed
Conducting structured Work Week Review, Scheduling, Scoping, and Lock-In Meetings and ensuring that all parties are engaged and challenged to meet their commitments for the upcoming and current work weeks
Responsible for all aspects of personnel management, including but not limited to: managing headcount, forecasting and budget(s) associated with group, directing assignments, employee hiring and on-boarding processes, providing continuous performance management and feedback to further develop staff including annual performance discussions, identification of growth opportunities and ensuring proper team recognition and appreciation.
Fostering a mutually respectful and inclusive work environment that is free from discrimination and harassment.
Ensuring daily open communication with workers (including subcontractors) that promotes an environment where workers feel comfortable bringing errors, mistakes, system weaknesses and issues to your attention.
What You Need
Minimum Job Requirements:
Advanced, expert-level knowledge leading Maintenance Execution and Work Planning and Control programs in compliance with DOE/NNSA requirements including DOE O 433.1B, DOE O 422.1, and DOE P 450.4
Proven leadership ability integrating priorities and commitments of internal and external stakeholders into a single integrated schedule to achieve mission objectives
Demonstrated experience in providing leadership, supervision, and retention and development of assigned employees including performance management, team building, problem solving, and conflict resolution
In-depth understanding of Conduct of Operations and Human Performance Improvement concepts to ensure that management systems are designed to anticipate and mitigate the consequences of human fallibility or potential latent conditions.
Leadership in organizational strategic planning initiatives to include establishing, monitoring, and reporting on performance metrics.
In-depth understanding of hazards analysis and control programs including lock-out/tag-out
Experience conducting critiques, root cause analysis, and lessons learned.
Asset Suite and Primavera P6 experience
DOE O 426.2a: Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related science, and 4 years nuclear experience. Job-related education or experience may be substituted on a case-by-case basis. The degree may substitute up to 50% of the experience requirement per section of I4.e of the CRD.
Training/Certifications:
Education/Experience : Position requires a BS degree and 15 years of related experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with ALDWP & ALDPI mission objectives and project scope
Demonstrated use of data to improve programs
Ability to obtain HRP certification.
Work Environment:
Work Location: The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment: Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. Clearance: Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Selected applicants will be subject to a background investigation conducted by or on behalf of the Federal Government, and must meet eligibility requirements* for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance. and obtaining such clearance requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon the position, additional authorization to access classified information may be required, which may or may not be available to dual citizens. Receipt of a Q clearance and additional access authorization ultimately is a decision of the Federal Government and not of Triad.

HRP: This position is subject to the requirements of the DOE Human Reliability Program as specified in 10 Code of Federal Regulation, Part 712, §712.11. These requirements include on going drug and alcohol testing, as well as periodic medical and psychological evaluations.
426.2: This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities, which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing. Although New Mexico and other states have legalized the use of marijuana, use and possession of marijuana remain illegal under federal law. A positive drug test for marijuana will result in termination of employment, even if the use was pre-offer.
Regular position: Term status Laboratory employees applying for regular-status positions are converted to regular status.

Incentive Compensation Program: Position is eligible to participate in the Triad Incentive Compensation Program. You must be in an eligible position for a minimum of 3 months, before July 1st and remain in an eligible position as of the end of the fiscal year, September 30th. The annual distribution is prorated based on the number of months in the eligible position.
