Job Title: Manufacturing TechnicianJob Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Microbiology Division, where you will work on products that make a difference in a manufacturing setting. Operators play a crucial role in the manufacturing process of agars by loading products, checking volumes, ensuring quality, and more.

Responsibilities

Efficiently and safely operate assigned machinery, perform simple maintenance, and report malfunctioning equipment immediately to a supervisor or lead.

Set up and adjust machines to run at different sizes.

Obtain correct materials for operation needs from the warehouse or staging area.

Organize production flow, ensure materials are available, estimate line progress, and schedule breaks corresponding to production time schedules safely.

Document work accurately, check for quality and compliance, monitor products for defects, and assist with the inventory process.

Accurately dispense required additives to media and perform techniques to achieve pH balance as needed, investigating and remedying possible production failures.

Follow all written procedures and report discrepancies to the area supervisor, performing all activities safely and wearing personal protective equipment as required.

Report property damage and/or safety hazards to the supervisor, human resources, safety specialist, or senior management immediately.

Complete production assignments timely and according to departmental schedules.

Sign off on DHRs in the proper places and fill in pertinent information according to SOPs.

Essential Skills

Experience in manufacturing and production support

Familiarity with GMP practices

Ability to comprehend and communicate in English both written and verbally

Ability to perform basic math

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and push/pull up to 600 lb. wheeled kettles

Ability to stand for sustained periods, approximately 10 hours a day

Ability to see and distinguish colors

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution

Willingness to train those with little relevant experience or a science AS or BS degree

Work Environment

The position operates in a laboratory/cleanroom environment on the 2nd shift from 2 PM to 10:30 PM.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.09 - $21.09/hr.
