Description

We are looking for a Biotech Patent Attorney with extensive experience in the field to join our team on a Part-Time, contract basis. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely while contributing to patent preparation and prosecution in the biotechnology sector. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in intellectual property law and patent filings, particularly with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed and accurate patent applications for U.S. and international biotechnology clients.

Respond to office actions and communications from patent offices in the U.S. and abroad.

Collaborate with attorneys and agents to ensure deliverables meet client expectations and deadlines.

Manage multiple patent prosecution projects while maintaining high-quality standards.

Attend scheduled virtual meetings to discuss project updates and align on client objectives.

Research and analyze biotechnology-related innovations to ensure compliance with patent laws.

Maintain a strong understanding of U.S. and international intellectual property regulations.

Provide strategic advice to clients on patentability and intellectual property protection.

Requirements

Active license to practice law and in good standing within the U.S.

Registration and good standing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in patent preparation and prosecution, specifically in biotechnology.

Proficiency in case management software and document management tools.

Strong understanding of U.S. and international patent laws and procedures.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines and maintaining flexibility.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
