Accounting Manager

Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Traverse City, Michigan. This long-term contract position offers an opportunity to oversee and manage essential financial operations, including month-end processes and reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong intuition and a proactive approach to maintaining financial accuracy and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

Lead month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

Prepare and distribute billing statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements.

Oversee accounts payable, including check runs and payment processing.

Maintain financial records and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

Utilize Jonas software to manage and streamline accounting operations.

Collaborate with the Finance Committee Treasurer on year-end reporting and reconciliation.

Monitor and manage revenues, ensuring proper documentation for a $6M annual budget.

Provide insights and recommendations to optimize financial processes and operations.

Ensure seamless communication and reporting across internal teams.

Address and resolve accounting challenges with a solution-oriented mindset. Requirements - Proven experience as an Accounting Manager or in a similar role.

Proficiency in month-end close processes and financial reporting.

Strong knowledge of billing statements, balance sheets, and profit and loss reporting.

Familiarity with Jonas software or similar accounting systems.

Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills.

Ability to analyze and interpret financial data accurately.

Strong intuition and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication skills for collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
