How You Will Contribute
Reporting to the Controller, the Finance Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to [1] day financial operations to ensure accurate accounting records and financial reporting.
The person in this role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day accounting functions.
Specifically, you will:
Oversee and manage all finance functions including, but not limited to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
Monitor cash and investment balances to assist with cash flow preparation.
Preparing timely and accurate month-end journal entries and performing balance sheet account analysis (i.e., cash, investment, receivable, payable, net assets, etc.) and updated and maintained for reference and review.
Assist with the development and monitoring of budgets and monthly financial reporting for various departments.
Support the annual financial statement and retirement plan audits with external auditors.
Support reconciliation and issuance of year-end tax compliance reporting (W-2 and 1099 forms) for employees and contracted services.
Assist with the annual organizational tax filing process (Form 990, Form 5500, etc.).
Maintains compliance with appliable laws, regulations, policies, and best practices.
Ensures compliance with organization and sponsoring agency policies and procedures.
Performs professional work requiring knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and a good understanding and application of concepts, theories, principles, and applied bases of accounting.
Continually seek and implement the opportunity to streamline and improve financial and accounting operations through use of technology, including conducting staff training support to better utilize financial and accounting software.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Your background and experience include:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field (CPA or MBA, preferred).
Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirement.
Five (5) years of finance or accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
Knowledge of nonprofit financial reporting, fund accounting and grant management. - Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to provide solutions.
Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of financial database systems and reporting tools, multiple software programs, especially Financial Edge, Raiser's Edge, Concur, ADP and the entire Microsoft suite.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Position and Compensation Details
The salary for this position is $110,000.
This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and 35 hours per week.
This position reports to the Controller.
This position is required to be performed fully onsite at Philadelphia Museum of Art locations.
Physical requirements:
Able to remain stationary for extended periods of time, to utilize computers and other office equipment required of this job, to perform physically administrative duties in a typical interior office environment, gallery, or exhibit space, and to access most public and staff areas of the museum campus
