Job Title: Warehouse Worker

Job Description

The main function of a warehouse worker is to receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from the stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.

Responsibilities

Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using a computer.

Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.

Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.

Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.

Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.

Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.

Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.

Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.

Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote effective local, state, or national security operations for the protection of people, data, property, and institutions

Additional Skills & Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required

2-4 years of experience required

Experience in packing, inventory, picking, and material handling

Work Environment

The warehouse operates across multiple shifts, including: 1st shift from 8am until finish, 2nd shift from 4:30 PM to 2:30 AM, 3rd shift from 11pm until finish, and a weekend shift from Friday to Sunday 9am to 7pm, with Monday from 11am to 9pm. The work environment is safety-focused with all necessary tools and equipment provided to ensure compliance with regulations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Old Lyme, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.75 - $19.75/hr.
