Construction Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to oversee several Capital projects (CAPEX) on-site over the next 4 months. The main projects will include facility roof repair, railroad repair, and sewer relining. The ideal candidate will be responsible for organizing the team, ensuring project timelines are met, and maintaining a safe working environment. Experience in managing projects independently and a strong background in heavy industrial settings are essential.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee multiple capital projects including facility roof repair, railroad repair, and sewer relining.
Organize and coordinate the project team to ensure timely completion of projects.
Ensure all safety standards are met and maintained throughout the project duration.
Operate independently without a support team, while collaborating with the Project Manager for project details.
Hold contractors accountable within a heavy industrial setting.
Utilize planning and scheduling skills to keep projects on track.
Shut down operations if safety standards are compromised.
Essential Skills
Experience in heavy industrial environments.
Strong project management and coordination skills.
Ability to operate independently without a support team.
Experience with planning and scheduling.
Knowledge of safety standards including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with CAD files.
Experience managing projects valued between $0.5M - $1M.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience within a chemical environment.
Experience with roofing, railroad repair, or sewer relining projects.
Proficiency with planning software such as Microsoft Project and Smartsheet.
Understanding of CAD drawings.
Work Environment
This role requires 100% on-site presence at a chemical manufacturing plant. The work schedule consists of four 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday. The plant operates in a fast-paced environment with a hands-off managerial approach, providing significant independence and freedom to manage projects. Safety is a top priority, and operations will be halted if safety standards are not met.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62.00 - $95.00/hr.
