A reputable governmental organization in Valley Center is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Clerk to join their team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a highly structured, mission-driven environment where accuracy, compliance, and service are paramount. The Finance Clerk will be responsible for supporting financial operations through documentation, data entry, and maintaining meticulous records while ensuring compliance with government regulations. This role is ideal for someone passionate about public service and seeking to grow their expertise in accounting and finance.

Responsibilities:

Assist with accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including invoice entry and payment tracking.

Perform data entry for financial transactions and maintain accurate ledgers and files.

Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly financial reports as required by the governmental organization.

Reconcile accounts and research discrepancies to ensure proper budgeting and expenditure tracking.

Provide clerical and administrative assistance to the finance department, including assisting with audits and compliance-related tasks.

Requirements

Associate degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of education.

Minimum of 1+ year of experience in a finance or clerical role, ideally in a government setting.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with government-specific financial systems is a plus.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to work in a regulated environment with a focus on compliance and confidentiality.
