Responsible for system integration of cost reduction (P4G) and quality improvement (GSIR, TCQ, 5 Star) projects from Planning (Idea Bank) to Execution (G0-G4) through the Whirlpool Product Development process. Technical problem solving and knowledge gap closure. Develop cost and quality idea bank pipeline and scoping of new initiatives. Evaluate Manufacturing requests to decompose project objectives, scope and constraints and support Day to Day operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project Business Case. Accountable for project schedule and budget (eng. expenses and capital) governance. Deliver Projects as per commitment to meet P2, P4G and Quality Targets. Ensure project development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements, including cost, quality & performance targets to support the project plans. System level design/cost/quality/time trade-offs and technical decision making for issue resolution within the project plan guardrails, coordinating across KASA Subsystems. Lead technical Design Reviews for the project to provide an assessment of whether the project is within the architecture/project/product plan guardrails. Drive full system validation through use of predictive validation methodologies in concept, design and product validation stages. Change management to monitor the changes, risks, actions and decisions during a project. Drive simulation of virtual proto@types and build of physical proto@types per V&V Plan. Drive closure of DFMEA action plans and updated Occurrence & Detection, based on Concept and Design Validation data and functional performance stacks. Coordinate Engineering Builds with cross-functional project teams. May work from home up to 2 weeks per year.

REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field plus 3 years of experience in the offered position or related occupation; or Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of experience in the offered position or related occupation.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

3 years of experience in engineering working with cross functional teams.

3 years of experience in technical project management, leading cross-functional engineering teams from concept through validation and product launch.

Must possess expertise/knowledge sufficient to adequately perform the duties of the job being offered. Expertise/knowledge may be gained through employment experience or education. Such expertise/knowledge cannot be "quantified" by "time". Required expertise/knowledge includes:

Experience in the home appliance industry, including large-scale manufacturing processes, system integration, and cost/quality improvement initiatives.

Knowledge of engineering principles, including structures, heat transfer, and thermodynamics, as applied to mechanical and thermal system design.

Experience with electrical and electronic systems, subsystem integration, and cross-disciplinary engineering coordination.

Knowledge of product development lifecycle and project delivery methodologies, including phases from concept through launch (Idea Bank, G0--G4, DFMEA, PPAP, predictive validation, and change management).

Experience managing budgets, financial planning, and capital expenditure control for engineering or manufacturing projects.

Experience in engineering software tools, including SAP, Windchill (PLM), and Creo (CAD) or equivalent PLM, MiniTab and CAD systems.

Knowledge of the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and quality system validation processes within a manufacturing environment.
