Summary The Advanced Level Medical Support Assistant (MSA) position serves as a Medical Support Assistant in the Community Living Center. The Medical Support Assistant will function in a technical advisory capacity in the Community Living Center (CLC) and within Geriatrics & ExtendedCare Line, assist residents with questions, complaints and information. The MSA performs the clerical and assistant support, which encompasses a variety of different duties and responsibilities. Initiate new admission of a resident into the system. Assist residents with their upcoming appointments by providing the residents with a flyer of upcoming appointments. Generates a trip order and contacts Patient Travel to set up any trips. Maintains a trip binder for all appointments outside of the CLC. Maintains a binder of Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) appointments and schedules. Initiates and updates the resident assignment sheets, report tools and communication tools as assigned. Responsible for transcribing orders onto treatment sheets, recopying treatment sheets, submitting trip data, answering incoming phone lines, responding to the patient call system, and notifying staff of calls and resident needs. Prepares agendas, records minutes, updates charters, prints handouts, graphs and any other material needed to facilitate the work of the committees. Scheduling and appointment coordination for all resident appointments, and consultative appointments made outside of the facility. Performs a variety of clerical duties in the Community Living Center that provides a variety of medical services. To be creditable, education completed outside the U.S. must have been submitted to a private organization that specializes in the interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education must have been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. programs. Ability to independently set priorities and organize work to meet deadlines, ensuring compliance with established processes, policies, and regulations. iii. This may include preparing reports in various formats and presenting data to various organizational levels, as well as resolving patient concerns. iv.
