Technical Qualifications & Certifications

EPA Section 608 Certification (Required by federal law in the U.S. to handle refrigerants)

HVAC Technical Training/Degree (Trade school diploma or associate degree in HVAC or mechanical engineering technology)

State or Local HVAC License

Experience

Experience in the field (2-5 years)

Experience with Specific Systems (commercial, split systems, VRF/VRV, heat pumps, etc.) Lenux, Trane

Installation, Maintenance, and Repair Skills of HVAC and refrigeration equipment (furnaces, air conditioners, ductwork, thermostats, refrigerators and freezers, etc.)

Troubleshooting and Diagnostics (ability to identify and resolve complex HVAC and refrigeration issues)

Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of HVAC Codes & Regulations and being knowledgeable in refrigeration and freezer Equipment

Proficient with Tools & Equipment (gauges, multimeters, leak detectors)

Ability to Read Technical Diagrams

Familiarity with Smart HVAC Systems (smart thermostats, EKTOS, Trane, etc.)

Basic Electrical and Plumbing Knowledge

Soft Skills & Professionalism

Customer Service Skills (polite, professional communication)

Problem-Solving Ability

Reliability & Punctuality

Attention to Detail

Physical Fitness (ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined or high spaces)

Additional Considerations
