Inspect water main installation activities for spec compliance

Document work via daily reports, quantities, photos, and observations

Identify and report non-conforming work

-Coordinate with contractor, project engineer, and owner

Skills and Requirements

Construction inspection or field experience with underground utilities (water main preferred)

Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and contract documents

Knowledge of pipeline installation: trenching, bedding, pipe laying, backfill

Ability to confirm compliance with trench details and installation requirements shown in the plan

Experience verifying line, grade, depth of cover, and alignment in the field

-Comfortable performing daily field inspections and reporting issues and documenting reports - Familiarity with AWWA, ASTM, or local/state utility standards

Background in civil construction, utilities, or water distribution

Prior experience acting as a liaison between contractor and engineer

NICET Certification
