Job Description: Senior Truck Driver

Job Title: Truck Driver - Dump Lead/Gravel Train

Job Summary: Drivers must be professional, motivated, and safety-conscious always. The driving position was established for CDL A drivers who have a minimum of three years driving experience in heavy haul. The driver knowledge base can ensure safe transporting (include spreading) of aggregates and millings while following company procedures, compliance to safety at all times and maintaining excellent customer service and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate gravel trains safely and in compliance with traffic laws and company policies while adhering to trucking industry safety guidelines and company safety guidelines at all times.

Operate 18-speed manual transmission.

Excellent attention to detail such as overhead wires, ground stability, other equipment in the area and instruction from General contractor team.

Perform pre-trip and post-trip truck and trailer inspections and report any defects or maintenance issues.

Secure aggregate properly to ensure safe transportation (without climbing on any @type of equipment). If assistance is needed contact your General Manager and Customer site lead.

Maintain accurate delivery records, logbooks, and required documentation.

Follow all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Professionally communicate effectively with company owners, coworkers and customers.

Keep vehicles clean and presentable.

Participate in driver training and mentoring programs to enhance driving skills and knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications:

Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL A) appropriate for the vehicle class.

Three years or more of heavy haul driving experience will be considered.

Clean driving record with no major traffic or safety violations.

Ability to pass a pre-employment medical examination, drug screening, and background check.

Professional and good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays, when required.

Physically capable of securing loads without climbing on any equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience operating heavy commercial vehicles.

Experience driving manual transmissions.

Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety inspections.

Defensive driving and/or safety certification are an advantage.

Working Conditions:

Exposure to varying weather and road conditions.

Occasional lifting of up to 35 pounds (23 kg) anything heavier must get assistance.

Training and Development: The company provides opportunities for training on additional equipment based on drivers' performance, experience and seniority.
