Duties Description Under the direction of the Park Managers, the candidate will be involved in all aspects of facility maintenance which include but are not limited to:- Snow removal, ice making for ice rinks, facility cleaning, tree cutting, chipping and wood splitting. - Road and trail maintenance, mowing and weed whacking, pool operation and maintenance, and building maintenance and repairs.- Operate large equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, skid steers, and large turf mowers.- Assist our custodial staff which may include tasks such as sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash cans, cleaning restrooms, and dusting surfaces. - Perform semi-skilled maintenance and repair activities in the fields of electric, carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical repairs. - Coordinate with other site staff during special events and in emergency situations to ensure guests have an enjoyable and safe experience. - Providing excellent customer service to patrons by answering questions and addressing their concerns promptly and courteously.
Minimum Qualifications One year of experience in the operation and/or maintenance of a park, historic site, golf course, or recreational facility;OR - One year of experience in any of the following fields:- Law enforcement or security- Firefighting- Emergency Medical Services - Environmental education or stewardship- Natural resources management (e.g., forest management, wildlife management/preservation)- Historic preservation or interpretation- Landscaping or grounds maintenance OR - One year of military service in any branch of the United States Armed Forces;OR - Thirty (30) semester credit hours of college-level coursework from an accredited college or university;OR - Completion of a two-year technical/trades school program;OR - Two years of experience as a trade assistant working under the direct supervision of a skilled tradesperson.Your credit hours must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency.
