GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE FUNCTION

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· Master's degree (desired), preferably in Education, Administration/Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, Student Personnel, Social Work, and/or related fields.
· Experience working with high school students, particularly students from educationally or economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
· Experience providing tutoring, academic intervention, advising, mentoring, or student support services.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal, public relations, marketing, and advertising skills.
· Ability to analyze academic data and identify student needs.
· Ability to maintain confidential records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Maintain knowledge of legislation, and best practices.
· Serve as an academic resource for students throughout the program year.
· Ensure close communication, progress monitoring of participants and provide appropriate strategies for the Check and Connect Mentoring Program.
· Make recommendations for continued, modified, or discontinued intervention services based on the student's progress.
· Be knowledgeable of Dual Enrollment/Credit and Advance Placement of participants.
· Screen applicants for participant eligibility
· Refer ineligible students to appropriate or alternative services
· Oversee the academic year tutorials/Saturday Academies and activities (via face to face, virtual, and/or hybrid) in collaboration with the Project Director.
· Reach out to students who fail to meet their requirements, providing reminders and support.
· Submit progress reports and report cards to the Project Director in accordance with the district's schedule.
· Update and manage the monthly student checklist to monitor and confirm the completion of all requirements.
· Collaborate with school administrators at target schools to schedule visits by the Director for individual and/or group sessions.
· Ensure that all necessary permissions and logistical arrangements are in place for these sessions to be conducted smoothly.
· Distribute necessary paperwork, including consent forms and intent forms, to students as required.
· Collect completed paperwork from students and review it for accuracy.
· Assist TRIO juniors and seniors with the ACT registration process, ensuring they meet all deadlines and requirements.
· Provide guidance to students on identifying suitable colleges, completing applications, applying for scholarships, and meeting deadlines.
· Support students and parents with completing FAFSA applications and other financial aid forms, ensuring they understand all requirements and deadlines.
· Communicate significant academic concerns to the Project Director in a timely manner.
· Assist with educational field trips, college tours, and other program activities when appropriate.
· Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervises Academic Interventionists during academic tutorials/Saturday Academies as appropriate.
