The Area Facility Manager is responsible for the area wide coordination of DMH facility management, the maintenance of our current facilities in the area through the management of staff and numerous contracted construction and maintenance programs. This includes being the liaison for a public health hospital including electrical systems, building construction and maintenance, engineering, elevator services, plumbing, fire and security alarm and sprinkler systems. This position is also responsible for annual capital improvement projects with the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) and the assigned contractors. The Area Facility Manager is responsible for providing appropriate and timely services to the facilities that are often located on a large, sprawling campus. Because of the age of the current building infrastructures, challenges are commonplace, so it will be imperative that this Manager must ensure that clinical care within settings are continuously provided in a safe, therapeutic and cost-effective environment. Duties and Responsibilities (these are a general summary and not all inclusive): Effectively manage department programs while demonstrating fiscal responsibility and control over spending. Ensure effective controls over campus operations and interdepartmental/interagency collaboration. Ensure hospital facility functions are effectively managed, have appropriate back up and are in good working order while maintaining compliance with the JCAHO standards including an accurate statement of conditions document that demonstrates all fire safety and other environmental compliance and lists deficiencies and corrective action plans with timeline for completion. Implement 5-year capital and equipment plans to maintain environment of care, and support modernization/renovation of patient care areas, utilizing facilities staff to minimize cost. May represent DMH at interagency meetings with the Executive Office of Health and Human Services related to appropriation and allotment of Capital Funding for repairs and maintenance to DMH facilities. Provide professional growth and career advancement within the facilities divisions through attendance at in-service education, professional development seminars and mandated training program. Preferred Qualifications: Broad knowledge of building construction and maintenance programs, including accreditations compliance programs, Clean State Initiative and the ability to read and interpret blueprints. Knowledge of hospital facility management and the ability to manage planning and building management processes. Knowledge of State financial, operating and bidding regulations including State construction and renovation laws and policies. Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act, and the ability to manage a diverse workforce. Ability to prioritize objectives and execute decisions with rapid turnaround times. Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate's years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division's Hiring Guidelines.
