Description

Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support our multi-location restaurant client based in Torrance, California. This Long-term hybrid contract opportunity is ideal for a candidate who can manage core accounting activities, contribute to accurate financial reporting, and help maintain smooth daily operations in a fast-paced environment. The role will focus on close activities, reconciliations, lease accounting, and broader general ledger support while partnering across key finance functions.

Responsibilities:

Lead the monthly close process from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is recorded accurately.

Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining thorough support for general ledger activity and account balances.

Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items promptly.

Oversee cash-related accounting tasks and support ongoing accounts receivable and invoicing activities.

Assist in producing financial statements and assembling reporting packages for internal review and decision-making.

Handle accounting related to inventory, fixed assets, and leases, including compliance with ASC 842 requirements.

Provide day-to-day operational accounting support and contribute to special assignments such as banking-related changes or other finance initiatives.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

At least 5 years of accounting experience, including strong ownership of month-end close activities.

Demonstrated experience with financial reporting, journal entries, and general ledger accounting.

Hands-on expertise with bank reconciliations and balance sheet account analysis.

Required knowledge of ASC 842 lease accounting.

Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with pivot tables, lookup functions, and complex formulas.

Experience with NetSuite is preferred.

Background in restaurant, hospitality, retail, or another multi-unit business environment is a plus.
