SUMMARY

Safely optimize and/or repair equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Promotes safety awareness, accident prevention, and employee involvement regarding a safe work environment. Ensures employees understand the safety expectations of the organization.

Optimize and/or repair equipment.

Uses power and/or hand tools per work instruction database and associated information systems.

May drive industrial equipment to move materials.

Uses computer to obtain and/or input information.

May be assigned to jobs in other departments.

May aid in training of others.

Provides suggestion for improvement of all our systems.

Ability to troubleshoot equipment.

Reads and understands diagrams/prints.

Must meet physical demands as stated below.

May be required to work overtime.

May be required to work holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Fork Truck Driver's License, Industrial vehicle/equipment license where applicable

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to successfully pass the respirator testing protocol and wear a respirator as needed.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme heat and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; and extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
