Description We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations for a high-tech electronics environment in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, accurate with financial records, and comfortable handling a mix of payables, receivables, and administrative accounting tasks. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a busy accounting function by keeping transactions current, documentation well maintained, and reporting activities running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

Process vendor payments, review incoming invoices for accuracy, and assign the appropriate coding before entry into the accounting system.

Track customer balances, prepare and issue invoices, and follow up on outstanding receivables to support timely collections.

Enter financial and operational data with a high level of accuracy while maintaining organized accounting records and supporting documentation.

Reconcile bank activity and investigate discrepancies to help ensure account balances are complete and correct.

Maintain filing systems for accounting documents, making records easy to access for audits, reviews, and internal reference.

Assist with routine accounting administration, including document preparation, record updates, and general departmental support.

Work with internal team members to resolve billing or payment issues and keep transactions moving efficiently.

Support ongoing process updates or changes in accounting workflows when needed as part of daily responsibilities. Requirements - Experience supporting accounting operations with a focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.

Ability to code invoices accurately and manage a high volume of financial transactions with strong attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data entry, record maintenance, and basic financial tracking.

Hands-on experience performing bank reconciliations and resolving account discrepancies.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate files and documentation.

Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external contacts.

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment while meeting deadlines.
