Standard Job Description

This role will be in support of the Morfius development program part of the Advanced Programs team. This is a fast paced role on a new program team where the product design will be evolving real time and it will be expected that the team is able to have a direct impact. Team members will be expected to integrate themselves as part of the development build team providing real time feedback on assemblies as they prepare for early development and flight tests. Travel will be required as part of this role, visiting several of the Missiles and Fire Controls sites as well as going to suppiers for reviews.

Generally you will be expected to performs in a collaborative environment to develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling. Drive adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, computer aided manufacturing software, etc.) to achieve greater efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. Create and analyze 3D based model data environment to optimize manufacturing process and digital work instructions. Leverage understanding of materials and automatic processes to define operations procedures and build sequences to drive operational excellence. Evaluate performance (including IoT devices, etc.) of equipment and tools to verify their efficiency and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure operational excellence. Leverage factory data to develop statistical process control approaches and integrates reporting and data analytics solutions for continuous improvement. Provide input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline

Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; an Interim Secret clearance is required prior to start

A broad base of professional knowledge regarding manufacturing machining, electrical and/or assembly work

Professional experience with product manufacturability (DFM), producibility, and design for cost (DFC)

Demonstrated skills in team building and leading through influence in a professional setting

Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization, including to non-technical personnel

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience working in a production or development buid environment

Experience with the design and manufacturing of complex electromechanical systems

Experience with mechanical assembly, manufacturing tooling design, factory design, and factory flow

Understanding and wide application of assembly and test methods

Experience in the design of manufacturing processes, procedures, and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, machining and material handling

Desired Skills

Related professional level career experience in production operations

Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification

Experience in program development with emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and leadership

Experience in capacity & capital planning

First Unit Flow planning & execution

Statement of work and proposal development experience

Experience with Make-Buy generation and strategy

Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) knowledge/experience

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $104900.00 - $194700.00

Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.

For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
