Job Description

This Manual Quality Assurance Tester will be working at a global hotel company on their .com website. They will be working on the hotel website team, a number of projects coming up, responsible for day to day team testing, weekly sprints. This team is responsible for sizes of screens (Break points, know how to navigate that device not to test mobile app, but using the mobile browser, default browsers such as chrome, safari, etc.). This will be 50/50 front end and back end testing. Ability to dig in on why things are broken, digging deep before telling the developer that something is broken. "this is not working correctly because the API call is not returning" going the extra step before sending it back. They will sit on a team and have agile ceremonies, refinement sessions, sprint calls.

Skills and Requirements

Senior QA with 5-8 years of experience, 100% manual testing

Someone who has done web testing

Front end application testing 50%

Back end/API testing, 50%, understanding requests, responses using tools like Postman and Insomnia

Understanding of how to debug issues, using logging tools (ex they use DataDog) to track down issues such as web page not loading, etc.

Cross browser testing

Ability to come up with test plans and test cases - Local to Chicago, come into the office 1-2 days a week

Understanding of accessibility testing

Ability to use a screen reader

Jira

Experience using AI such as ChatGPT

Ecommerce background, checking booking flow for a website

Credit card process, booking with cards

Test booking flow for website, testing payment integrations
