Generating and simulating operational level plans to explore the art of the possible, how we could defend the ultimate high ground in a future space war

Dynamically optimizing both terrestrial and space-based sensors to provide comprehensive space domain awareness

Strategically optimizing the placement and maneuvering of constellations of satellites to satisfy multiple, evolving priorities

Our team leverages industry standard open-source software solutions such as GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, and Rancher. As an engineer on an Agile Scrum Team, you will have the opportunity to rapidly develop and deploy solutions for a complex space system following core engineering principles, ultimately enabling the delivery of fully functioning mission capability to end users securely and continuously.

The information below reflects the standard job description for this position:

Plans, conducts, and coordinates software development activities. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.

Basic Qualifications

Software development experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Java and JavaScript

Experience developing software with CI/CD build tools (GitLab, Jenkins)

Experience working on large-scale software projects with multiple teams and stakeholders

Familiarity with software test best practices, including unit test, integration test, and end-to-end test

US Citizenship Required: No clearance required to start but must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance

Desired Skills

Experience with SpringBoot or Quarkus for backend Java development

Experience with LIT for JS front-end

Experience with Node.js/Express for hosting UIs

Experience with Python

Experience with Helm charts for IaC

Experience with software version control tools, such as GIT

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment

Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery

Familiarity with the Space Domain

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00

Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.

For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
