Responsibilities The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of West Virginia is looking for a video editor and creator to support the district's mission of representing the interests of the United States in litigation and community affairs. This new position will create powerful content across video, social media and emerging platforms building the digital influence of the district. If selected for this position, you will be responsible for: generating, developing, producing and editing multimedia content for social media and digital communications. assisting in planning and producing audiovisual projects to support the districts training, outreach and communication objectives. employee shoots photo and short video presentations at office events, programs. assisting in compiling visual content for use in marketing or communication products. operating digital video cameras, audio recording equipment, lighting systems, teleprompters, and related production equipment. capturing video and audio using agency-approved software to produce finished products that meet established quality standards. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progress. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-7: To be qualified at the GS-7 grade level, you must have at least ONE full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience: Assisting in creating multi-media content such as graphics, photography, short form video for social platforms and/or longer form content for television. Maintaining media files and/or content archives including labeling, storing and organizing digital materials. Capturing, editing, and producing photographic and video content for (non-personal) social media. Proofing and editing content to ensure correct grammar and style guidance for social media posts, briefs, scripts and/or basic articles. Experience in the actual @type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled. OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a related field (e.g. photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position) OR Combination of Education and Experience: Combinations of successfully completed graduate education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements. OR Superior Academic Achievement: Possess a Bachelor's degree or expect to complete the requirements for a Bachelor's degree within the next 9 months AND possess at least one of the following criteria: (1) Class standing- in the upper third of the graduating class in the college or university. (2) Grade-point average (G.P.A.) - have a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum.
