TRANSITIONING SERVICE MEMBERS ONLY AS PART OF THE DoW/DoD SKILLBRIDGE PROGRAM FELLOWSHIP
Sitting at the intersection of Data Science, ML Engineering, and AI Engineering, this role combines data science, AI/ML engineering, MLOps, generative AI development, and data engineering fundamentals to translate business needs into scalable solutions and close the gap between proof of concept and production-ready capability.

Responsibilities
Scale AI solutions beyond experimentation
Automate analysis for growing volumes of call transcripts, surveys, digital feedback, and other service interaction date
Implement generative AI, LLM, RAG, and intelligent automation opportunities.
Analyze and interpret results with some complexity
Develop and code basic software programs, algorithms, and automated processes
Use modeling and trend analysis to analyze data
Collaborate with team members and participate in team projects and initiatives
Utilize effective written and verbal communication to document and present findings
Qualifications
Experience in the fields of Data Science, AI & NLP, ML Engineering, and/or Data Foundations
Statistics, predictive modeling, forecasting, experimentation, or similar data science techniques
SQL, Python, APIs, ETL and data pipelines, or similar data foundations
Model lifecycle execution
Data storytelling and technical presentation skills
Technical (Big Data Analysis, Coding, Project Management, Technical Writing, etc.)
Problem Solving (Responds as problems and issues are identified)
Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computers Science, Engineering, or degrees in similar quantitative fields, or equivalent experience
Desired Qualifications
Master's Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Engineering fields
AI & NLP experience with LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, embeddings, text analytics, or similar functions
ML engineering experience with deployment, monitoring, MLOps, CI/CD, or similar production systems and functions
PySpark
Familiarity with vector databases
Cloud platforms and tools like Databricks, Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, MLflow, or similar
Salary:
$70,000 - $135,600 annual (Potential salary if hired by Navy Federal as a full-time employee: SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Navy Federal, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members)
