Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for a top data-driven client. This individual will join a fast-paced engineering team focused on improving the performance and reliability of API-driven data systems. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and contribute across multiple initiatives. This role will focus heavily on optimizing Azure Synapse performance, enhancing API functionality, and addressing data-related challenges, while also supporting broader engineering efforts such as security remediation and system improvements. It's a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex problems and working in a modern cloud-based environment.

Skills and Requirements

Strong experience with Java

Experience with Spring Boot (must be open to working in Quarkus)

Experience in Kubernetes environments

Strong experience with Azure (advanced knowledge required)

Ability to troubleshoot, work independently, and solve complex engineering problems

Experience with API development and integrations

Experience with SQL and performance optimization - Experience with Quarkus framework

Experience with Kafka / streaming technologies

Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics

Prior experience with data performance tuning and optimization techniques (materialized views, dedicated SQL pools, etc.)

Experience working in high-volume API environments
