About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to help design and build the next generation of enterprise API platform capabilities. In this role, you will develop scalable backend services, modern developer experiences, and automation solutions that enable teams across the organization to securely build, publish, manage, and consume APIs. You will contribute to architecture, engineering standards, platform innovation, and AI-powered capabilities while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence.
Essential Responsibilities:
Design,develop,test,deploy,andsupportenterprise API platform capabilitiesincludingAPIonboarding,governance,catalogmanagement,developerportals,andlifecyclemanagement.
Buildscalableandresilientbackendservicesusing Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, REST APIs, GraphQL, and microservices architecture .
Developmodern,responsivewebapplicationsanddeveloper-facingexperiencesusing React and TypeScript .
Applyindustry-leadingarchitectureprinciplesincluding Domain-Driven Design (DDD) , event-driven architecture ,API-firstdesign,andmicroservicespatterns.
DriveautomationacrossAPIregistration,testing,compliancevalidation,securitycontrols,anddeploymentworkflowsthrough DevSecOps andCI/CDpractices.
Monitor,troubleshoot,andoptimizeproductionenvironments,improvingreliability,performance,observability,scalability,andoperationalreadiness.
Integrateandenable AI-powered capabilities withinplatformserviceswhilesupportinggovernance,testing,monitoring,andresponsibleAIpractices.
Leadcodereviews,mentorengineers,contributetotechnicalstrategy,andcollaboratewithcross-functionalteamstodeliverhigh-qualitysolutions.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
Five to six years of relevant experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
Strongexperiencedevelopingenterpriseapplicationswith Java , Spring Boot , Node.js ,andmodernAPItechnologies.
Hands-onexperiencedesigningandsupporting RESTful APIs , GraphQL APIs ,anddistributed microservices solutions.
ExperiencewithAPImanagementandgovernance,including OpenAPI/Swagger ,APIlifecyclemanagement,documentation,anddeveloperenablement.
Proficiencybuildingmodernwebapplicationsusing React , TypeScript ,andresponsiveUIdevelopmentpractices.
Strongunderstandingof Domain-Driven Design (DDD) ,event-drivensystems,integrationpatterns,andmodernsoftwarearchitectureprinciples.
Experiencewith Docker , Kubernetes , CI/CD pipelines ,automatedtesting,infrastructureautomation,andcloud-nativedevelopmentpractices.
DeepunderstandingofsoftwareandAPIsecurity,including OAuth 2.0 , OpenID Connect (OIDC) , JWT ,securecodingpractices,andauthentication/authorizationframeworks.
ExperiencewithrelationalandNoSQLdatabasessuchas PostgreSQL , Aurora ,or MongoDB ,includingdatamodelingandperformanceoptimization.?
Experienceimplementingobservabilitysolutionsincludinglogging,monitoring,distributedtracing,alerting,andoperationaldashboards.
Experienceintegrating AI/GenAI capabilities intoenterpriseapplicationsandservices.

Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
