Summary As a Bank Examiner, you will serve as an expert advisor for the field examining staff of Regional and Midsize Financial Institutions (RMFI) and as an advisor to the Deputy Comptroller and SDC for RMFI. This position is located in New York, NY. Responsibilities As a Bank Examiner, you will: Oversee supervisory efforts that involve complex retail credit issues and present a high level of risk to RMFIs. Assist the EIC in developing quarterly risk assessments and supervisory strategies of the bank including plans to effect corrective action(s) and programs to monitor progress. Conduct and supervise the significant retail activities of RMFIs which involve exceptionally complex issues and present high risk(s) to the bank(s). Meet and communicate regularly with senior bank management, OCC staff, and other bank regulators to discuss supervisory conclusions, share information, and resolve concerns. Plan, organize, and control supervisory activities which may include the supervision of assigned staff. Structure the examining team based on developmental needs, current technical skills, technical demands, and scope of the examination. Assign supervision of departments or risk areas to appropriate personnel. Direct, review, and evaluate the work of assigned personnel. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires that the successful candidate undergo personnel vetting, which includes a background investigation and enrollment upon onboarding into "Continuous Vetting." Enrollment in Continuous Vetting will result in automated record checks being conducted throughout one's employment with Treasury. The successful candidate will also be enrolled into FBI's Rap Back service, which will allow Treasury to receive notification from the FBI of criminal matters (e.g., arrests, charges, convictions) involving enrolled individuals in near real-time. Qualifications You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of the announcement: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-VI band level or GS-14 Grade Level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include: Leading exams, audits, or reviews of a financial institution's activities to identify retail credit risk and provide advice to management on risk mitigation. AND Planning, organizing, and directing the work of a team, including assigning work, reviewing work products, and aligning staff resources based on workload, technical expertise, and mission needs. The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
