This Electrical Engineer role focuses on the end-to-end design and development of advanced electrical systems for spaceflight and robotics applications. You will design and analyze analog and digital circuits, develop power systems including motor drivers, and contribute directly to spacecraft and space robotics projects that will operate in orbit and on upcoming lunar missions. The position is hands-on and lab-focused, offering the chance to work with state-of-the-art technology and see your designs deployed in real space missions.
Responsibilities
Design and analyze analog and digital electrical circuits for spaceflight and robotics systems.
Develop power systems and motor driver circuits for motor control and robotic actuation.
Perform schematic capture and PCB board layout using industry-standard tools.
Prepare and maintain bills of materials (BOMs) for new and existing designs.
Lead and support proto@type development, including assembly, bring-up, and debugging of hardware.
Conduct electronics testing and validation using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams working on robotics, aerospace, satellite, and spaceflight projects.
Contribute to motor controls and robotics development, ensuring reliable performance in demanding environments.
Apply rigorous engineering practices to ensure designs meet performance, reliability, and safety requirements for spacecraft and space robotics.
Document designs, test results, and engineering decisions clearly to support manufacturing, integration, and future upgrades.
Essential Skills
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
2-7 years of experience in electrical engineering or hardware design roles.
Hands-on experience with analog circuit design and analysis.
Proficiency in digital circuit design and analysis.
Experience with PCB design using Altium or similar electronic design automation tools.
Strong background in hardware design, including schematic capture and PCB layout.
Demonstrated ability to perform electronics testing and debugging in a lab environment.
Proficient use of lab tools and equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and spectrum analyzers.
Experience with motor controls and robotics development.
Practical experience in aerospace, satellite, or spaceflight-related projects.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with robotics systems, including control and integration of motors and sensors.

Work Environment
This role is based in a research and development environment focused on spacecraft and space robotics used on rover missions. You will spend significant time in an electronics lab working with oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, and other test equipment to develop and validate cutting-edge hardware. The work centers on state-of-the-art technology and involves contributing to multiple projects that will be deployed in space, including upcoming lunar programs. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $75.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
