A privately held investment and operating company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its lean, collaborative finance team. This position offers exposure to investment entities, private company accounting, cash management, financial reporting, and executive-level decision support.

The role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and wants broad exposure across multiple entities rather than being confined to a narrow accounting function.

This opportunity is particularly attractive for candidates with experience in family office accounting, fund accounting, private equity, investment management, or multi-entity accounting environments.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Accounting

Prepare and maintain financial statements for multiple entities

Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities

Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses

Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure compliance with GAAP

Support budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and investment reporting

Analyze financial trends, operating results, and key business metrics

Assist with quarterly and annual reporting requirements

Support tax workpaper preparation and coordination with external advisors

Multi-Entity & Investment Accounting

Maintain accounting records for various operating and investment entities

Monitor cash balances and support treasury activities

Prepare reports and analyses for ownership and management

Assist with special projects, acquisitions, investments, and ad hoc financial analysis

Administrative & Corporate Support

Coordinate with outside professionals including attorneys, tax advisors, payroll providers, and financial institutions

Support entity administration and maintenance of corporate records

Assist with recurring documentation and compliance requirements

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial and business information

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Approximately 3-7 years of progressive accounting experience

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting

Experience preparing financial statements and account reconciliations

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills

Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems

Strong organizational and analytical abilities

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
