Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Job Description
Join a growing manufacturing operation in Portland, TN as an Industrial Maintenance Technician, where you will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a wide range of industrial equipment and facility systems. You will play a key role in ensuring production runs smoothly by responding quickly to equipment issues, performing preventive maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement of plant reliability and safety.
Responsibilities
Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation.
Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment and plant assets in accordance with established maintenance programs.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement effective corrective actions.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime and support uninterrupted operations.
Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, manuals, and work orders to plan and execute maintenance tasks.
Install, maintain, and repair motors, conveyors, pumps, compressors, and other industrial equipment as needed.
Troubleshoot electrical issues using a multimeter, blueprints, and schematics, including 3-phase and 480V systems.
Troubleshoot mechanical issues involving variable frequency drives (VFDs), motors, and conveyor systems.
Perform PLC troubleshooting to identify and resolve control-related equipment problems.
Support robotic troubleshooting and repair, focusing on electrical and mechanical systems as required.
Conduct welding and fabrication tasks to repair or modify equipment and plant infrastructure.
Perform root cause analysis on recurring equipment failures and recommend long-term corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with industrial safety standards and company safety policies during all maintenance activities.
Complete maintenance documentation and work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment performance and reliability.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
Strong electrical maintenance skills, including work with 3-phase and 480V electrical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using a multimeter, blueprints, and schematics.
Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues involving VFDs, motors, and conveyor systems.
Proficiency in hydraulic and pneumatic system troubleshooting and repair.
PLC troubleshooting experience to identify and resolve control system faults.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and work orders.
Experience with conveyor systems maintenance and repair.
Background in preventive maintenance programs for production equipment and plant assets.
Welding and fabrication skills for equipment repair and modification.
Capability to perform root cause analysis on equipment failures.
Knowledge of industrial safety compliance and safe work practices in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with robotic troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing maintenance documentation and work orders.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience working as an industrial maintenance technician in a manufacturing or production facility.
Familiarity with pumps, compressors, motors, and other common industrial equipment.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with production, engineering, and other maintenance team members.
Commitment to continuous learning and skill development in electrical, mechanical, and automation systems.
Comfort working in a non-climate-controlled environment during warmer months and heated facility during winter.

Work Environment
This role is based in a brand-new manufacturing facility in Portland, TN, operating on a first shift schedule from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will work around industrial equipment such as motors, conveyors, pumps, compressors, VFDs, PLC-controlled systems, and robotic equipment. The environment emphasizes safety and proper use of tools and test equipment, including multimeters and welding and fabrication tools.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $54080.00 - $74880.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
