Job Description

A lead defense contractor sitting in Petaluma, CA is looking to hire a Mechanical Engineer who will be sitting onsite M-Fri working a 9/80 schedule. This person will be supporting their group 3 VTOL UAS alongside a team of 9 Mechanical Engineers and 4 Electrical engineers. He/She will be performing a lot of 3D prototyping and working with manufacturing. He/she should be interested and excited about design for manufacturing and/or DFA, since this team is responsible for customizing their existing UAS for their customer ranging from custom mounts to custom brackets etc. This role will be responsible for about 70% CAD work and 30% being hands-on with hardware, performing calculations and cable management. This ME will report directly into the AeroMechanical Engineering Manager. This role will be paying between $100-$153k annually depending on years of experience and qualifications. This role does support relocation as needed.

Skills and Requirements

Obtained Bachelor's or Master's Degree in related field

3-6+ years of Mechanical or relevant Manufacturing Engineering experience

Subsystem product ownership, being hands-on with an aircraft and any applied R+D experience

Experience with Cable Management, 3D Rapid Prototyping, performing hand calculations etc.

Interested and or knowledgeable about DFM/DFA - Applied Drone or UAV/UAS Mechanical Engineering experience

RCCA experience
