Walmart is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the development and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, including infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML frameworks. The Global Security & Investigations Technology team develops intelligent, scalable platforms that enhance security and operational risk management. Leveraging AI-driven innovation, data insights, and resilient engineering, the team supports investigators, security operators, and aviation units with advanced technology to improve decision-making and automate processes. Focused on cloud-native architecture and continuous improvement, the team delivers robust, maintainable solutions aligned with business priorities. This group transforms security into a technology-enabled capability that drives secure global growth and operational excellence through collaboration, innovation, and technical expertise.
What you'll do:
Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones and domain priorities.
Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
Lead full software development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
Conduct system design reviews to validate feasibility and ensure alignment with architectural best practices.
Build AI-driven applications and integrate ML components using multiple programming languages.
Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering excellence through documentation and knowledge sharing.
Collaborate across teams to define technical requirements and optimize development processes using data-driven practices.
What you'll bring:
Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to ensure scalable and resilient systems.
Strong hands-on development skills across multiple programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, and C++.
Experience leading full software development lifecycle activities, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
Ability to conduct thorough system design reviews and apply software design patterns for secure, maintainable, and modular solutions.
Demonstrated capability in API design, software prototyping, and DevOps engineering to enhance platform productivity.
Skilled in data-driven decision making and driving engineering excellence through continuous improvement and error correction.
Effective collaborator with strong communication skills to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
