Responsibilities WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As a Nurse (Consultant): Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, therapists, laboratory personnel, and other disciplines to coordinate patient-centered care. Function as part of a nurse and social work case management team, working jointly to address medical, psychosocial, and supportive care needs. Contribute to individualized care planning, patient education, and ongoing clinical assessment to support continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes. Provide direct patient care, including management of multidrug therapy, monitoring for adverse drug reactions, wound care, and prevention of disability. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education(external link), Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs(external link), Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education(external link), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (external link) is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following: Providing advanced clinical management and nursing consultation services to support patient care, program operations, and quality improvement activities. Coordinating patient care activities and case management services to ensure continuity, quality, and compliance with healthcare standards. Conducting clinical assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and support evidence-based care and disease management. Performing neurological and functional assessments to evaluate patient condition and support clinical decision-making and care planning.
