What You Will Be Doing:
The Demo Operations Specialist is responsible for the strategic administration and operational oversight of the company's demonstration and Knoxville Plantation fleet programs. This position independently evaluates business opportunities, determines equipment deployment priorities, approves or declines demonstration support requests, allocates company assets, and makes recommendations regarding fleet utilization, acquisitions, training resources, operational expenditures, and program effectiveness. The position exercises substantial discretion and independent judgment in matters affecting sales support, customer engagement, resource allocation, and business performance while operating with broad guidance from management.
Primary Responsibilities:
Decision-Making Authority: This position regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance, including approving or declining demonstration requests; committing and allocating company fleet assets; authorizing expenditures within delegated limits; determining and deploying resources; recommending fleet acquisitions, replacements, and dispositions; and resolving competing business priorities without day-to-day supervision.
Fleet Strategy & Resource Allocation: Independently evaluate competing requests for demo fleet assets and determine equipment allocation priorities based on business opportunity, customer potential, projected return, strategic objectives, and operational constraints.
Business Decision Making: Analyze demonstration utilization, customer demand trends, fleet performance, and operational data to develop recommendations regarding fleet composition, replacement planning, acquisition priorities, and asset disposition strategies.
Program Administration: Operational decisions on behalf of the company to administer company demo fleet policies, procedures, and guidelines and ensure deployment decisions align with organizational objectives, budget considerations, and strategic initiatives. Establish and revise standard operating procedures for demo fleet coordination and set the standards others follow. Develop and maintain a Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) to keep up with the market and market demand.
Financial Impact: Develop and manage annual budgets for Demo and Knoxville Plantation fleets. Recommend and authorize expenditures associated with demonstration activities, transportation, support services, equipment preparation, field testing, and training events within the Knoxville Plantation and Demo fleet.
Strategic Prioritization: Determine the level of company resources committed to customer demonstrations, events, and sales initiatives based on business impact, sales potential, and organizational priorities.
Data-Driven Recommendations: Design and maintain utilization and ROI reporting and use the analysis to independently recommend changes to fleet size, mix, and investment to leadership.
Conflict Resolution: Resolve competing business priorities involving equipment availability, transportation capacity, support personnel, and scheduling constraints through independent analysis and decision-making.
Program Improvement: Evaluate the effectiveness of demo fleet operations, utilization, training activities, and sales collateral and develop recommendations that improve productivity, resource utilization, and business results.
Leadership Influence: Serve as subject matter expert for demo fleet operations and provide guidance and recommendations to sales representatives, managers, product support personnel, and company leadership regarding equipment deployment strategies and execution.
Risk & Compliance Judgment: Assess and mitigate operational, safety, and reputational risk associated with customer demonstrations, making go/no-go decisions on demo readiness and suitability.
Sales Enablement: Evaluate sales enablement content needs and determine priorities for development, revision, and deployment of demo related sales support materials.
Demo & Training: Evaluate training content needs, determine priorities for development, revision, and deployment of demo related support materials.
This position will require 25% travel to customer offices, worksites, YBC branches and out-of-state training.
Additional Responsibilities:
Yancey Required Safety Training
CPR Training required.
Position may require adherence to Yancey's safe driving training and program.
Complete additional tasks as assigned by management
Who We Are Looking For:
To be successful in this position you should have prior experience in operational oversight and sales support. This position also requires someone who has detailed understanding of resource allocation and customer engagement.
Education/Experience:
Four-year college degree from an accredited institution
At least 2-years YBC experience or 3 years outside industry experience.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Microsoft Suite: PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
Assertive communication and organization skills are required.
Presentation, Negotiating, and Listening skills are crucial.
Basic understanding of Construction Equipment and the Construction Industry a plus.
Other duties as assigned and qualified.
Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:
Light (Estimated 75% of Time): Occasionally Lift/Carry/Lower 1 - 15 Lbs, seldom Lift/Carry/Lower 15 - 30 Lbs, never Lift/Carry/Lower +30 Lbs.
Heavy (Estimated 25% of Time): Constantly Lift/Carry/Lower 1 - 15 Lbs, Constantly Lift/Carry/Lower 15 - 30 Lbs, Frequently Lift/Carry/Lower 30 - 50 Lbs, occasionally Lift/Carry/Lower 50 - 75 Lbs, seldom Lift/Carry/Lower 75 - 100 Lbs +. Frequently pushing/pulling, reaching (both above and below shoulder), bending/twisting, walking, standing, repetition - hand/wrist simple and firm grasping.
Corporate Offices: Climate controlled environment. Work under fluorescent lighting. Moderate noise levels. Possible noise and vibrations carried over from the shop.
Knoxville Plantation Demo & Training Facility: May be subject to extreme weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and ice. Equipment, tools and job sites may be very loud requiring hearing protection. Environment may include vibrations, strong odors, moving mechanical parts, exposure to electrical shock, flammable liquids and gases, oils and solvents, working on platforms or equipment over 4 feet from the ground. Appropriate PPE may be required and mandated by Yancey Bros. Co.
Field Sales & Customer Visits: May be subject to extreme weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, and ice. Equipment, tools and job sites may be very loud requiring hearing protection. Environment may include vibrations, strong odors, moving mechanical parts, exposure to electrical shock, flammable liquids and gases, oils and solvents, working on platforms or equipment over 4 feet from the ground. Appropriate PPE may be required and mandated by customer.
