Job Description
The Manufacturing Lead supports and guides a production team to consistently meet weekly manufacturing goals and yields in a regulated environment. This working lead operates manufacturing equipment while actively monitoring performance, compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). The role oversees day-to-day staffing, training, and workflow coordination to ensure production targets are met, even when demand spikes unexpectedly, while maintaining high quality standards and accurate documentation.
Responsibilities
Lead a manufacturing team to achieve weekly production goals and target manufacturing yields in a regulated environment.
Act as a working lead by operating manufacturing equipment while simultaneously monitoring production metrics and team performance.
Ensure the team follows all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and adheres to all relevant standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Monitor and enforce Good Documentation Practices (GDP) so that all records and documentation remain accurate, complete, and compliant.
Adjust plans and priorities to meet unscheduled or spiking production demands and prevent back orders.
Support daily staffing needs to meet manufacturing goals, including coordinating staff allocation across tasks and lines.
Assist with staff rotation, break scheduling, and shift handoffs to maintain smooth and continuous operations.
Lead department training activities, including onboarding and upskilling, and maintain compliant and up-to-date training records.
Evaluate and help pilot new manufacturing technologies and processes to minimize issues during initial and subsequent production runs.
Maintain accurate production, quality, and training records in accordance with GDP and all related SOPs.
Track, document, and implement corrective action protocols to address nonconformances and process deviations.
Work cross-functionally with other departments to coordinate corrective actions for technical problems related to raw materials and finished products.
Identify and address issues that could lead to rejects or field complaints, and drive improvements to minimize these occurrences.
Support continuous process improvement initiatives in areas such as assembly, packaging, machine operation, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and support to team members to foster a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.
Essential Skills
Three (3) to five (5) years of related manufacturing experience within a regulated medical device manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment.
Previous lead experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong preference for experience leading teams of approximately 20 people.
Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes, including assembly, packaging, machine operation, and production management.
Proficient understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Strong knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
Understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
Familiarity with FDA-regulated manufacturing environments and related quality processes.
Demonstrated ability to supervise and guide production staff in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Ability to monitor and maintain compliance with SOPs and quality standards.
Strong management and leadership skills, including scheduling, coordination, and team oversight.
Experience working in cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environments.
Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with large Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in medical device assembly or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Experience in process improvement within manufacturing operations.
Experience supporting or implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) or similar corrective action protocols.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve technical and quality issues.
Strong attention to detail in documentation, recordkeeping, and training compliance.
Comfort working with new manufacturing technologies and participating in pilot runs.
Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing production demands and schedules.

Work Environment
The role operates on a 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. schedule, supporting the Cuvettes manufacturing team. Initial training takes place on first shift, with hands-on guidance from leadership to ensure thorough onboarding. Work is performed in a cleanroom environment, requiring adherence to strict cleanliness and attire standards. Leggings are not permitted, and face makeup or lipstick cannot be worn. Team members who wear glasses must use side shields, and all personnel must wear appropriate hair nets and beard covers as part of the cleanroom protocol.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.15 - $29.15/hr.
