JOB SUMMARY
This position is within the RPC (Refined Products and Crude) segment, responsible for leading the Refined Products Accounting team and supporting the financial activities. The role partners closely with Commercial, Operations, Scheduling, and other business groups to ensure accurate revenue recognition, billing, financial reporting, and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, develop, and manage the Refined Products Accounting team.
Oversee monthly close, revenue accounting, reconciliations, and segment financial reporting activities.
Review and interpret commercial agreements to ensure accurate accounting treatment and billing.
Partner with business stakeholders to resolve accounting and operational issues.
Support audit activities and ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Job Profile Summary
Manages monthly natural gas plant settlements, pipelines and general accounting functions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and manage monthly settlement process and financial activities related to natural gas plant allocations, pipeline actualization, purchases, and sales to ensure fulfillment of contractual terms. Supervise employees engaged in those activities
Analyze accounting policies, procedures, and corresponding controls to ensure financial statements and/or reports are reliable and in compliance with governmental regulations
Monitor and maintain accounting and financial reporting systems and relevant computer applications. Research, evaluate, and propose system changes and/or development of new accounting systems to expedite accounting processes
Participate in development of new and replacement contracts with Gas Supply and Contract Administration. Understand and communicate impact of these contracts to other accounting personnel such as Budgeting and Forecasting. Be able to translate settlement provisions of these contracts to settlement programs
Provide information and assistance to management, employees, regulatory agencies, auditors, vendors, and others relative to accounting processes, revenue reports, invoices, imbalances, forecasts, policies, procedures, etc
Prepare, verify, and/or approve information and reports including but not limited to:
Volumes of liquids sold
Imbalances
Allocations
Gas purchase expenses
Producer Settlement Statements
Natural Gas Storage
Education
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related discipline with previous experience working in various accounting functions
Work Experience
Experience with and thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting methods and procedures and company accounting methods, practices, and procedures
Experience in use and function of office equipment including computers and applicable software
Experience and/or training related to:
Oil and gas industry terminology and accounting methods
Financial reporting
Applicable governmental regulations and/or guidelines
Supervisory and management skills
Experience monitoring and analyzing financial data, reports, invoices, audits, and regulatory publications
Experience researching, preparing, and composing accounting and financial related publications, contracts, ledgers, manuals, computer printouts, procedures, analyses, presentations, and correspondence
Experience reviewing and interpreting applicable company policies and procedures, manuals, FASB pronouncements, governmental regulations, legal documents, rate case orders, accounting and financial related publications, contracts, reports, and correspondence
Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively
Experience supervising, directing, and training; working knowledge of personnel policies and procedures
Experience developing information and conducting group presentations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to: apply algebra, statistics, and economic theory

Licenses and Certifications
