Job Title: Warehouse Associate
Job Description
This role supports a high-volume fulfillment warehouse by safely operating electric pallet jacks and handling palletized freight in a cold storage distribution environment. You will focus on loading and unloading trailers, breaking down and restacking pallets, and assisting with inventory control to ensure accurate and efficient product flow.
Responsibilities
Operate an electric pallet jack (EPJ), including single and double pallet configurations, to move freight throughout the warehouse.
Load and unload palletized freight that has been staged by the selection team onto trailers throughout the shift.
Receive and unload inbound freight, verify and inspect products, and relay information to the receiving clerk.
Break down pallets, restack product, restock inventory, and palletize freight as needed to support warehouse operations.
Stage and load outbound trailers accurately and efficiently according to schedules and instructions.
Assist with inventory management activities, including cycle counts and date coding, to maintain accurate stock records.
Use RF scanners to read labels, pick lists, and signage, and to accurately record product movement and inventory data.
Handle customers' products safely and efficiently while following established procedures and safety guidelines.
Operate various warehouse equipment, including forklifts and handheld scanners, after receiving appropriate training.
Follow oral and written instructions to complete shipping papers, reports, and records required for the position.
Work safely in a cold storage environment while wearing appropriate clothing and protective gear.
Communicate clearly and tactfully with co-workers and others in the facility to coordinate tasks and resolve issues.
Meet physical demands of the role, including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling inventory throughout the shift.
Essential Skills
Ability to operate an electric pallet jack (EPJ), including riding pallet jacks for single and double pallet handling.
Experience working in a warehouse environment with palletized freight and trailer loading or unloading.
Ability to read, write, communicate, and comprehend English sufficiently to read labels, pick lists, scanner information, and signage.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions accurately.
Capability to accurately complete shipping papers, reports, and records required for the position.
Ability to operate various configurations of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and handheld scanners, after training.
Good judgment to operate forklifts and other equipment safely and lawfully.
Ability to handle customers' products safely and efficiently while maintaining productivity.
Ability to work in a cold storage environment and withstand very cold temperatures.
Physical ability to stand, sit, and walk throughout the day as needed.
Physical ability to repeatedly twist at the torso while lifting, pushing, and pulling inventory from shelves.
Ability to regularly lift between 20 and 100 pounds as part of daily duties.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience as a receiver or loader in a distribution or fulfillment warehouse.
Experience using RF scanners for order picking and inventory tracking.
Familiarity with order picking processes in a warehouse setting.
Experience operating sit-down forklifts and reach trucks is beneficial but not required.
Willingness to learn additional equipment and processes with on-the-job training.
Reliability in attendance and the ability to show up consistently and on time for scheduled shifts.

Work Environment
The role is based in a cold storage distribution facility, where temperatures remain very cold throughout the shift. Team members wear full clothing layers and protective bibs to stay comfortable and safe in the environment. Work involves operating electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and RF scanners on warehouse floors and in and out of trailers. The position requires constant movement, including standing, walking, lifting, pushing, and pulling, as well as frequent twisting at the torso. The facility focuses on safety, efficient freight handling, and accurate inventory control in a fast-paced, physically demanding setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
