Job Title: Warehouse Material Handler Job Description
The Warehouse Material Handler supports day-to-day shipping and receiving operations by safely receiving, storing, packing, and shipping materials and merchandise. This role organizes domestic and international shipments, prepares all required documentation, and handles the loading and unloading of trucks. The Warehouse Material Handler distributes raw materials to production facilities, maintains accurate inventory through physical counts and reconciliation, and keeps the warehouse clean, orderly, and optimized for maximum efficiency and safety.
Responsibilities
Perform daily shipping and receiving activities to accomplish the work schedule and meet established deadlines.
Organize domestic and international shipments to ensure they meet expected ship dates and customer requirements.
Initiate and complete all necessary paperwork for shipments, including preparing shipping documents and labels.
Load trucks safely and efficiently, following all applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements for shipping hazardous goods.
Receive raw materials and distribute them to production facilities as needed to support ongoing operations.
Use inventory control systems and computer applications to enter, track, and manage inventory data accurately.
Collect paperwork from received materials and enter information into the database in a timely and accurate manner.
Unload trucks and coordinate or schedule necessary deliveries to and from the facility.
Clean and organize the warehouse by placing materials in appropriate areas and rearranging stock to maximize space utilization and efficiency.
Perform monthly physical inventory counts and compare results to system records.
Reconcile inventory discrepancies and maintain a high level of inventory accuracy.
Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Follow established warehouse procedures and processes to maintain consistent and efficient operations.
Maintain a safe work environment by identifying, reporting, and helping correct unsafe conditions.
Manage time effectively to organize and complete tasks within given deadlines, even when working under pressure.
Collaborate with team members and contribute to a positive, goal-oriented team environment.
Provide customer-oriented service by supporting internal and external customers while following company procedures.
Use sound judgment to make decisions based on available information and operational priorities.
Essential Skills
Proven experience in warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations.
Hands-on experience with material handling, including loading and unloading trucks.
Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently, including sit-down forklifts.
Experience with inventory control, including performing physical counts and inventory reconciliation.
Proficiency with RF scanners and warehouse inventory systems.
Excellent computer skills, preferably with an inventory control system or similar software.
Basic knowledge of standard warehouse procedures and processes.
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Organizational skills with a systematic approach to completing tasks and maintaining order.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and individuals.
Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to support customer needs while following company procedures.

Work Environment
This role operates in a production warehouse environment where large tote bags of powder are loaded by overhead crane into large, two-story mixing machines. The facility is clean, though floors may occasionally have powder and/or water present, and strict safety practices are in place. The site maintains a very strong safety record, with more than five years without injury or incident, reflecting a culture that prioritizes safe operations and employee protection. Work involves regular use of material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks, and interaction with inventory control systems and RF scanners. Employees can expect a structured, process-driven environment focused on efficiency, organization, and safety.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tualatin, OR.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
