This Accounts Payable Coordinator role supports the Development Finance team in a major film and television studio, focusing on processing payments to talent with active development deals prior to production. You will work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and serve as a key point of contact between internal stakeholders and external talent and representatives. The position centers on customer-facing accounts payable workflows, financial reporting, and process improvement, offering a strong entry point into the entertainment industry and exposure to automation and AI tools in the finance field.
Responsibilities
Manage talent payee onboarding for all development deals by using internal accounts payable platforms to collect and validate payment information for writers, directors, producers, and rights holders ahead of payment.
Maintain and enhance key accounts payable process workflows with a strong focus on improving controllership, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Collaborate closely with internal Development stakeholders, including Creative, Business Affairs, and Legal, to track newly closed deals across film and television development slates and assist in setting up payment schedules in the Payment Scheduler System (PSS) in alignment with deal terms.
Field ad hoc inquiries from talent and their representatives and coordinate with the AP FinOps Support team to troubleshoot development payment and onboarding issues in a timely and professional manner.
Manage payment metric dashboards in Quicksight to reinforce financial controllership, monitor performance, and provide clear visibility to various internal business partners.
Produce Development Cost Reports from PSS data for Production Finance for relevant titles and for Legal for projects that are abandoned or otherwise require reporting.
Perform accounts payable activities such as invoice processing, invoicing, purchase order management, and accurate data entry to support timely and accurate payments.
Communicate effectively throughout the lifecycle of the payment and reporting processes, ensuring alignment and transparency across all teams involved.
Apply knowledge of contracts, agreements, finance, and reporting to ensure that payment schedules and financial outputs accurately reflect deal structures and compliance requirements.
Essential Skills
1-2 years of experience in a related finance, accounting, or accounts payable role (new graduates will be considered for the right candidate).
Hands-on experience with accounts payable systems and workflows.
Practical experience in accounts payable, including accounting, invoice processing, invoicing, purchase order handling, and data entry.
Ability to communicate effectively with different teams throughout the lifecycle of the payment and reporting processes.
Financial reporting experience, including creating and managing dashboards.
Knowledge of contracts and agreements, finance principles, and reporting requirements.
Work Environment
The role follows a standard Monday through Friday schedule with five days per week in the office, providing regular in-person collaboration with Development, Creative, Business Affairs, Legal, Production Finance, and AP FinOps teams. You will work within a modern entertainment studio environment that leverages advanced finance technologies, including accounts payable platforms, a Payment Scheduler System (PSS), and analytics tools such as Quicksight. The position offers the opportunity to be part of the entertainment industry, gain exposure to development finance, and work with automation and AI tools in the finance function. While the role is not planned as a fixed-term extension or guaranteed conversion, there may be a possibility depending on business needs and performance. The work setting emphasizes professionalism, collaboration, and clear communication across multiple teams and stakeholders.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
