We are seeking an experienced Calypso Accounting Business Analyst to join a leading Capital Markets technology and finance transformation team based in New York. This role is ideal for a senior professional with extensive expertise in Calypso Accounting, Accounting Reporting, and Financial Accounting, combined with strong business analysis skills and deep product knowledge across multiple asset classes.
The successful candidate will act as the bridge between Finance, Operations, Technology, and Front-to-Back Office stakeholders, leading accounting-related initiatives within the Calypso platform and ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Gather, analyze, and document business and accounting requirements from Finance, Accounting, Operations, and Technology stakeholders
Lead the design, configuration, and optimization of Calypso Accounting and Accounting Reporting solutions
Partner with Finance teams to ensure accounting treatments and reporting processes align with internal policies and external regulatory requirements
Perform gap analysis, impact assessments, and solution design for new business initiatives and system enhancements
Translate business requirements into functional specifications for development and configuration teams
Support end-to-end project delivery, including requirements gathering, testing, implementation, and post-production support
Work closely with QA teams to define test scenarios, execute UAT, and validate accounting and reporting outputs
Analyze accounting events, workflows, lifecycle events, and system-generated accounting entries
Support reconciliation activities between Calypso and General Ledger platforms
Collaborate with stakeholders across Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Finance, and Technology teams
Provide expertise on financial products, accounting implications, and reporting requirements
Requirements
7+ years of Business Analysis experience within Capital Markets or Financial Services
Strong hands-on expertise in Calypso Accounting and Accounting Reporting
Proven experience working with Financial Accounting processes and controls
Deep understanding of accounting event generation, accounting rules, reporting, and reconciliation processes within Calypso
Extensive experience documenting business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and gap analyses
Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades, regulatory initiatives, and accounting transformation programmes
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business and technology teams
Calypso Product knowledge required: Collateral Management, Fixed Income, Money Markets, Treasury, FX Derivatives
Nice to have
Knowledge of regulatory and financial reporting requirements
Experience working within large global banking or capital markets environments
Exposure to Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies
Understanding of trade lifecycle processing and front-to-back operational workflows
