We are seeking junior and mid-level candidates with a strong foundation in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field to bridge the gap between software development and hardware systems. This role involves designing and implementing solutions that integrate hardware components, including drones, electro-optical sensors, lasers, lidar, comms, and FPGAs, with advanced software applications.

A successful candidate will be expected to:

Work with a team of skilled professionals to design, build, and test electro-optic systems

Apply expertise in embedded systems and real-time control to develop novel sensing platforms and edge devices

Support system design and implementation from initial concept through production

Write efficient, reliable code to interface with hardware and optimize system performance

Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to develop proto@type systems and bring concepts to production readiness

Contribute to projects involving robotics, computer vision, motion control, and real-time data acquisition.

This is a full-time, exempt, non-supervisory position based in our Niwot, CO office.

Experiences and Background We Look For (Required Skills):

B.S. or higher in Robotics, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience. Significant direct production engineering experience may substitute for education

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or embedded system languages

Comfortable with hands-on field testing of hardware and software systems and working with interdisciplinary teams

Hands-on experience with robotic sensors (e.g., LIDARs, cameras, IMUs) and platforms

Organization and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Proven capability to develop creative solutions to complex technical problem

Ability to communicate clearly both written and verbally

U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Nice to Have (Preferred Skills):

Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, FPGAs, or similar platforms

Familiarity with communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN

A background in hardware debugging tools and methodologies

Intellectual curiosity and a desire for continuous learning

The salary range for this role is $95,000 to $110,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
