Construction Laborer - Solar Installation
Job Overview
We are seeking motivated Construction Laborers to support the installation of a large-scale solar energy project spanning approximately 3,000 acres. Team members will work within one of several installation crews, including Pile Installation, Racking Installation, or Solar Module Installation. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the growing renewable energy industry while contributing to the construction of critical clean energy infrastructure.
The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, and is comfortable performing physical labor while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities: Solar Construction & Installation
Support the installation of solar infrastructure as part of a pile, racking, or module installation crew.
Assist with unloading, staging, transporting, and organizing construction materials throughout the site.
Carry and position materials, including steel piles, racking components, and solar modules.
Work alongside equipment operators and supervisors to complete installation activities according to project specifications.
Install and secure racking systems and solar panels using hand tools and power tools.
Measure, verify, and inspect installed components to ensure proper alignment and quality standards.
Follow site layouts, work instructions, and basic construction drawings as directed by project leadership.
Meet daily production goals while maintaining workmanship and safety standards.
General Construction Support
Assist with earthwork, site preparation, material handling, and site maintenance activities.
Support inventory management, material receipt, and laydown yard operations.
Participate in site cleanup, waste management, and housekeeping efforts to maintain an organized work environment.
Contribute to construction layout and surveying tasks as needed.
Provide support to electrical and commissioning teams when assigned.
Perform other duties necessary to support overall project completion.
Safety & Teamwork
Follow all company and project safety policies, procedures, and OSHA standards.
Maintain situational awareness in an active construction environment.
Communicate effectively with crew members, operators, foremen, and project supervisors.
Contribute to a positive team environment focused on productivity, quality, and safety.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year of construction, installation, or general labor experience.
Experience working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic construction practices.
Ability to lift and carry 25-30 pounds repeatedly throughout the workday.
Comfortable walking long distances and working on uneven terrain.
Ability to follow instructions, work independently when required, and maintain productivity in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to performing quality work.
Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous solar construction experience.
Experience with racking systems, solar module installation, or pile installation.
Exposure to electrical construction, cable pulling, trenching, or underground utility work.
Familiarity with construction layouts, blueprint reading, and measurement tools.
Experience operating or assisting around heavy equipment and material handling operations.
Renewable energy or utility-scale project experience.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
