Summary
The Sr. Supply Chain Manager is responsible for developing and executing supply chain strategies that ensure the right equipment is available at the right place and time to support a dynamic, event-driven business. This role oversees demand planning, inventory optimization, procurement coordination, supplier performance, logistics planning, and capital asset utilization across the Freeman AV Production network.
The Sr. Supply Chain Manager partners closely with Procurement, Operations, Warehouse Leadership, Finance, and manufacturers to forecast demand, manage inventory investments, reduce rental and expedite costs, improve equipment availability, and support long-term business growth. This position plays a critical role in aligning inventory strategy with operational requirements while driving process improvements and supply chain efficiencies across the organization.
This position will support our Audio Visual and Event Technology team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, working in our Freeman AV Production Dallas office 2-3 days per week.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Supply Chain Strategy & Inventory Management
Develop and execute supply chain strategies that optimize inventory availability, capital investments, and equipment lifecycle management across the Freeman AV Production network.
Forecast equipment demand by analyzing event calendars, historical utilization, seasonal trends, business growth projections, and market conditions.
Recommend inventory acquisition timing and quantities that balance customer demand, capital expenditures, warehouse capacity, and manufacturer lead times.
Monitor inventory health and utilization across all locations, identifying opportunities to redistribute, repurpose, retire, or liquidate equipment.
Lead inventory optimization initiatives to reduce shortages, improve asset utilization, and maximize return on capital investments.
Develop inventory policies, stocking strategies, and replenishment models that support operational readiness and business objectives.
Procurement & Supplier Management
Collaborate with Procurement, manufacturers, and strategic suppliers to manage equipment purchases, monitor order status, and ensure timely delivery of inventory.
Develop and maintain supplier relationships to improve service levels, reduce lead times, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Monitor supplier performance through key metrics such as delivery accuracy, quality, responsiveness, and lead-time adherence.
Partner with manufacturers and suppliers on forecasting, production planning, and staged delivery schedules.
Logistics & Operational Support
Coordinate supplier-held inventory and staged deliveries to align equipment availability with receiving capacity, deployment schedules, and event timelines.
Partner with Operations and warehouse teams to balance equipment allocation across markets and minimize rental, expedite, transportation, and shipping costs.
Coordinate barcoding, stenciling, asset tagging, and equipment readiness requirements to support efficient deployment and inventory tracking.
Support network-wide inventory movement strategies to ensure equipment is positioned to meet business demand.
Data Analytics & Continuous Improvement
Utilize Power BI, Excel, Coupa, and other business systems to analyze demand trends, inventory performance, supplier metrics, and supply chain KPIs.
Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and performance metrics that provide actionable insights for leadership decision-making.
Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements that increase supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
Lead initiatives focused on supply chain modernization, workflow automation, and cross-functional collaboration.
Create and maintain tools, documentation, standard operating procedures, and collaborative resources that improve business processes and visibility.
Leadership & Collaboration
Serve as the primary supply chain partner to Operations, Procurement, Warehouse Leadership, Finance, and Production teams.
Provide recommendations to leadership regarding inventory investments, supply chain risks, capacity planning, and operational readiness.
Facilitate cross-functional planning efforts to support business growth, strategic initiatives, and evolving operational requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, Operations Management, or related field preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience required.
Minimum seven years of experience in supply chain management, inventory planning, demand planning, procurement, logistics, or related disciplines.
Experience within the Audio Visual, Event Production, Entertainment Technology, Rental Equipment, Manufacturing, or Capital Asset Management industries preferred.
Strong knowledge of audio, video, lighting, scenic, staging, and production equipment used within live event environments.
Demonstrated experience managing inventory strategies, supplier relationships, forecasting, and operational planning.
Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration abilities within a matrixed organization.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, ERP systems, Coupa, and related analytics tools.
Comfortable operating in a highly collaborative and rapidly evolving environment where priorities shift based on business and event demands.
